Resume With No Experience: The Student & Fresher Template
Education-first layout that turns projects, volunteering and courses into real experience entries.

No job history is not the same as no history. The fresher template flips the resume education-first, then converts projects, volunteering, part-time gigs and courses into experience-format entries with the same bullet grammar employers scan for: verb, scope, result. One page, zero apology.
Education-first layout
Lead with school, expected graduation, relevant coursework and GPA if strong. Coursework lines should read like skills: 'Relevant: Inventory Systems, Business Math, Excel Lab.' For non-students, a headline plus skills summary takes the top slot instead.
Manufacturing experience entries
Class project, volunteer shift, family business help, online course capstone — each becomes an entry with a role title you actually held ('Team lead'), dates, and two measured bullets. Scope counts as a number: people served, items handled, accuracy, hours.
The one-page discipline
Cut objectives, references-available lines, and full addresses. Keep white space generous and fonts standard for ATS. One honest page from a fresher beats two padded pages every time.
Do this week
- List every project, gig and volunteer stint you have done.
- Rewrite the best three as experience entries with numbers.
- Put education and skills above everything else.
- Get one working adult to red-pen it before sending.
Quick answers
Should I include high school?
Only if it is your highest education or has standout achievements. Otherwise no.
What about the objective statement?
Replace with a two-line summary of target role plus strongest proof. Objectives beg; summaries position.
References available upon request?
Delete the line. Everyone assumes it, and it wastes prime space.
